Aaliyah's debut album Age Ain't Nothin However A Number debuted in 1994. The singer was only 15 at when the album was released and it was later renamed Gold. This collaboration was heavily influenced by R. Kelly, and helped put her on the map. In 1996, she teamed up with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland in her album, One In A Million, that included the top-selling single If Your Girl knew. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B vocals on this album. In 2000, she appeared alongside the legendary martial artist Jet Li in Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her at an awards show and suggested the role. In 2002 she was part of the film vampire Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. She then got into the Matrix in the form of Zee on The Matrix Sequels having also appeared as a character in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. She received four nominations at the Grammy Awards in 1999, 2001 and 2002. Aarti Mann is an Indian American of the first generation who was born in Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann comes from her married name Mankad. She uses Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for professional names. She started her acting career in minor film and TV performances, but her fame increased in the mid 2000s. Some of her other notable work comprise Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. In addition, she was a part of several commercials including Volvo and many other major car brands. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues acting as an actress.
