Aaliyah Haughton became famous in 1994, when she dropped her first album Age Ain't Nothing but the number. She was only 15 at the time and the album was later renamed Gold. The group's collaboration heavily influential to R. Kelly's musical style, put her in the limelight. In 1996, she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland on her album, One In A Million, featuring the number one hit song If Your Girl only knew. Aaliyah became a well-known R&B singer after the album's release. In 2000 she starred in the action and romance movie Romeo Must Die alongside martial artists Jet-Li.
