Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz was born in Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents in honor of the town where she grew in. His father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder is a self-described Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. She has a younger brother Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family moved to Mendocino, California in the year 2000, when Ryder was only seven years old. There they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days studying books since she had no television. When she turned 12 Ryder joined the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986, she got her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied in her high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her behavior would be changed. However, that didn't happen. However, she pushed on with her dreams. In 1988, she received her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued playing parts that proved successful in a variety of films. In 1993, she was nominated twice for Academy Awards. One of them for her role in The Age of Innocence.
